Что мне нравится в Нью-Йорке

• Вечерний свет. Вечером на западной части Манхеттена яркое солнце, потом свет становится все более теплым, розовым и золотым, и потом солнце садится за Джерси.
• Запах воды на берегу Гудзона, особенно вечером.
• Везде красивые шрифты. Красиво оформлены упаковки с мюслями, идеальные разные буквы на стенах мясного рынка в Челси. 
• В городе красивый баланс цветов: теплый серый, теплый коричневый.
• Если зайти в Центральный парк или в парк на берегу Гудзона, звук машин просто гаснет. На слух такое ощущение, что выехал из города и сидишь в лесу. 
• Каждый район на Манхеттене сильно отличается от других. Если по диагонали идти от нашего дома наверх на восток, то каждые 10 минут кажется, что вот перешел ну в совсем другое место. Они, с одной стороны, логично друг в друга переходят, с другой стороны, когда попадаю в другой район, это сразу: ого!

What I like best about NY

• The evening light. The sun is pretty harsh sometimes in the evening when you are in the the western part of Manhattan. The light gets warm, pink-ish and even a little golden then, and after that you can enjoy the sunset over Jersey.
• How the water on Hudson river smells, even better in the evening.
• Typographics, prints, production design. Even the corn flakes boxes look trendy and the letters on the Chelsea Meat Market look just perfect.
• The color combination of brown and grey, which look warm in the day and during the sunset. They were all warm even when it was snowing, ha!
• When you enter a/the Park, the sounds of the city just disappear. It is so quiet as if you were outside of the city. You just enter any bigger green part of the street and it becomes all nature-y.
• Every part of Manhattan is different from the other ones. When I walk from home in the upper east, every 10 minutes the streets tend to change. On the one hand you can’t really notice it changing, but when it has changes, you see it: whoa!

Отдельным абзацем мне нравится, что можно быстро доехать до океана. Что вокруг есть парки, небольшие горы и места, куда можно поехать на велосипеде (и велосипед даже можно взять с собой в поезд!) Мне нравится, что до икеи ходит водное такси, и что водные такси ходят еще и в другие места.

Мне нравится, что все разные. Все разные почти как в Берлине, но как-то по-другому. 

A great thing that I like about New York is that you just take the subway and 40 minutes later you find yourself at the ocean (maybe even sooner if you know how to do it, I just only did it one time yet). And you always can find a park or a garden, and there are parks in the state, where you can ride a bike (and it is allowed to take a bike on a train, ha!). I like, that you can go to Ikea by a water taxi, and that there are other water taxies to other places.

I like that everyone is different. They are different from each other just like in Berlin, but somehow in an other way.

Я думала, мне сложно будет написать этот пост, потому что все время есть, к чему придраться (привет Зябе и нашим походам в общепит за едой). Оказалось, что сложно остановиться и написать только о том, что мне нравится больше всего.

Мне нравится быть здесь.

I actually thought, that it would be hard for me to write a blog posting like this, because there are things that I dislike. It seems now, that it is hard for me to stop, because there are so many things that I like, and it is not really easy to sort out only the most important of them.
